Abstract

Right now, we are witnessing the fourth industrial revolution, a process where a great accent is put on data processing. This process brought and it is still bringing a lot of changes in the core of the many industries, where all the involved stakeholders need to make a certain modification of their current processes and adapt to the newly placed trends. The same inevitable process is happening in agriculture in terms of digitalization and data processing. The involved stakeholders in the whole agricultural industry (government, agricultural companies, farmers, markets, schools, universities, etc.) have the need to go through certain changes and adaptations of their existing practices in order to meet the trends of the new industry revolution and the needs for producing enough food for the rapidly increasing world population. Agricultural education has a main role to play in this transition.
