Polirural H2020- Compendium of Regional Evaluation Reports

Polirural has created a Compendium of Regional Evaluation Reports.

The purpose of this compendium is to give observation into the results of the evaluation of the policies of the 12 Polirural #pilots regions made by conducting desk review interviews and surveys with regional stakeholders and experts. This compendium can be used as an input into the Long Term Vision for Rural Areas.

Green Growth Platform together with their partner AgFutura Technologies chose the measure 124 “Investments in infrastructure for development of agriculture, forestry and water economy for analysis and evaluation.

You can read more about the results of the conducted survey for the Gevgelija-Strumica region and the evaluation reports of all pilots on the provided document on this LINK.

PoliruralH2020 project – Evaluation Base Cluster Map

PoliruralH2020 project made an Evaluation Base Cluster Map of the 12 pilots.

The diagram consists of all 12 pilots who shared similar issues and preferences in the current policy estimation. Based on this map a task will start in the following months, focusing on research of new policy measures, which will be assigned to two or more pilot regions that are grouped by common ground.

The conclusions from this cross- border learning of the regional teams, can help by showing what was working, or what didn’t work before developing an optimal intervention for their rural area.

Second webinar for the project Ploutos

The second webinar for the project “Ploutos- – Sustainable Innovation Pilot 9 in Serbia and N.Macedonia” was held on 18.02.2021 by Blagoja Mukanov, representative and consultant from “Green Growth Platform” (GGP). This meeting was held online through the Microsoft Teams platform.

At the start of the meeting, there was a short introduction of the participants, humanitarian organizations involved in the process of donating food and the managing partners for the project “Ploutos” represented by Blagoja Mukanov from GGP (N.Macedonia) and Maja Zikic and Nikola Terzin from Foodscalehub(Serbia).

The main aim of the meeting was presentation of the project “Ploutos” and the pilot activities in the Republic of N.Macedonia as part of the Sustainable Innovation Pilot 9 in Serbia and N.Macedonia.

The focus of the presentation was on the Pilot 9 objective, which is developing a platform that will engage users from the entire value chain and provide quality exchange of information on food donation opportunities. This platform will help reduce food waste and optimize donation ecosystem with food donors (eg. retail grocers, farmers, producers, distributors, and foodservice operators)  and the Green Development Platform as coordinator of the platform on one side, users of the donated food (eg. public kitchens, Red Cross, SOS Children’s Village and other humanitarian organizations) on the other side.

There was a short presentation of the platform FoodSHare, its functions and benefits. The participants had the opportunity to witness the easy and simple usage of the platform (usage by donors, users and volunteers). This way of donating will allow full transparency around food surplus and the communities it’s helping.  FoodSHare will offer a simple, flexible service with charity vetting and ongoing support. Charities will have the power to access food donations and support at no charge, either to redistribute in food parcels or cook on-site (depending on the type and quantity of surplus). FoodSHare provides a secure and convenient way for food businesses to connect with frontline charities and community groups to streamline surplus food donations.

First webinar for the project Ploutos

Blagoja Mukanov, representative and consultant from Green Growth Platform (GGP), has held the first online webinar  for the project Ploutos on 21.01.2021. This meeting was held online through the Microsoft Teams platform.

At the start of the meeting, there was a short introduction of the participants, companies from agri-food  industry and humanitarian organisations involved in the process of donating food,  and of the management for project Ploutos – Sustainable Innovation Pilot 9 in Serbia and N.Macedonia, represented by Blagoja Mukanov from GGP (N.Macedonia) and Nikola Terzin, from Foodscalehub(Serbia).

The main aim of the meeting was presentation of the project “Plutos” and the implementation of the project through 11 Sustainable Innovative Pilots. Each pilot focuses on a specific segment of the value chain in agriculture, food production and distribution.

During the presentation the main focus was on the Pilot 9 objective which is creating a digital platform for quality exchange of information on donation opportunities, where on one side are the food donors and the Green Development Platform as coordinators of the platform, and on the other side are the users of the donated food (eg. public kitchens, Red Cross, SOS Children’s Village and other humanitarian organizations).  Another important segment is that this refers not only about food that is still suitable for consumption, but also about food that can be processed for other needs (eg. fertilizer).

The main conclusions of the presentation were regarding the large amounts of food waste that is thrown away on an annual level in N.Macedonia, and how by using the platform that process could be optimized. This will have positive impact on the environment by reducing pollution due to reduced amount of destroyed food and increased use of natural fertilizers. The project will also have economic benefits by increasing efficiency along the entire value chain of the agri-food ecosystem and most importantly social contribution by increasing the number of food donations for vulnerable groups of citizens.

At the end of the meeting, conclusions and summary were presented.
